Stay or Go: Learning to Trust the Choice

The decision to stay or go is never easy.  This has been the question of my life—do I stay and try to fix what’s broken, or do I go? Over the years, I’ve walked away from jobs, friendships, and situations that no longer felt right. Sometimes I believed I could build something better. Other times, I just needed space to breathe. More than once, I found myself feeling like I’d taken a step back.

But now, looking back, I see things differently.

Yes, maybe I had more status or success at certain points. I may have even been more “popular.” But those things were never making me happy. In fact, they were holding me back from becoming the woman I am now.

And truthfully? I’m happier now. I like who I’ve become. I love the people in my life and feel aligned with where I’m headed.

Walking Away Gave Me Power

The decision to stay or go is never easy.  Today, I can sit with someone who’s struggling and help them feel seen. I can offer peace. I feel things deeply, and I finally understand that this sensitivity is part of my soul’s purpose—not a flaw.

I’m surrounded by people who get that. They understand what it means to live with intention and compassion. For the first time in a long time, I’m not rebuilding from the ground up. I’m living in the beauty I’ve created.

And I am grateful.
